Lung Powerhouse: Our Director, Simone Laraway, is a qualified Singing for Lung Health Practitioner who will help you strengthen the respiratory muscles used for breathing through singing. Improving breath control can increase lung capacity, making everyday activities like climbing stairs and walking easier. She also works with Asthma + Lung UK, running a singing 4 lung health group in the local community.
Clear the Air: Singing exercises the diaphragm, the dome-shaped muscle below the lungs. A strong diaphragm helps move more air in and out, which can clear mucus and improve airflow—beneficial for those with conditions like asthma or COPD.
Social Butterfly: Let us help you build the confidence to join a choir or singing group, which will provide social connection and combat loneliness. Singing together can be a fun and uplifting experience.
Anxiety Buster: Simone Laraway is an NHS-approved Health Coach (who studied at the College of Naturopathic Medicine) and emphasizes that singing tackles anxiety by targeting the parasympathetic nervous system and releasing mood-boosting chemicals. Singing activates the parasympathetic system, encouraging the release of mood-regulating chemicals and helps to counteract the physiological and emotional effects of anxiety.
